Emmanuel
"Noli" Tiu Santos landed in the Who's Who in the
World, according to Gene Mc Govern, chief executive officer
of the Marquis' Who's Who Publications' 22nd edition 2005
which is "limited to individuals who have demonstrated
outstanding achievement in their fields of endeavor and contributed
significantly to the betterment of contemporary society."
Santos is Chairman-CEO and founding president of the International
Academy of Management and Economics which has been pioneering
in global education since 1986 in spite of the barriers set
up by regulatory authorities and local associations of colleges
and universities.
IAME is affiliated with the prestigious and influential London
School of Economics and Political Science, University of California
at Berkeley, Warnborough University in UK, University of Business
and Finance in Switzerland, Swiss Management Academy, University
of Southern Queensland in Australia, Australian Institute
of Management Sciences, Jones International University, USA
and SprottShaw College of Canada.
The
American Management Association through Imperial Consulting
headed by Henry J. Schumacher, its president-CEO, and concurrently
executive vice president of the European chamber of Commernce,
has signed up IAME to market its certificate couses for workplace
skills upgrading.
Santos,
a delegate to the 1971 Constitutional Convention, was included
in the International Yearbook and Statemen's Who's Who, Cambridge,
England, 1977 and 1983; Marquis' Who's Who in the World, 5th
Edition, USA, 1980; Men of Achievement, 1982 and 1990; The
International Who's Who of Intellectuals, 1982 and 1990; Community
Leaders in the World, American Biographical Institute, USA,
1985; Top 5000 Personalities of the World, and Awardee for
"Outstanding Service to the Cause of Freedom and Democracy",
American Biographical Institute, 1992; International Who's
Who of Professionals, Who's Who Historical Society Boston,
Massachusetts, USA, 2002.
Santos is author of best-selling books The Philippine Business
Laws, Constitution of the Philippines: Notes and Comments,
Organization and Management, Corporate Governance, and Principles
of Management. He is co-author with British professor Jack
Effron of Strategic Management, Comparative Labor Relations,
International Management, International Business Environment,
and International Marketing.
As
delegate to the 1971 Constitutional Convention, Santos was
assigned by Convention President Diosdado Macapagal, also
5th President of the Philippines, to sponsor the creation
of the Ombudsman as anti-corruption body, the Bill of Social
and Economic Rights which included free education, social
services in housing and health, rights of workers, youth and
women. Santos likewise sponsored the right to freedom of information,
right to travel, right to counsel, and right against detention
incommunicado. All these provisions were carried over to the
1987 Cory Aquino Constitution.
A
corporate lawyer, Santos was commercial banker, part-time
lecturer in UP, Ateneo, UE and UST graduate schools. He was
OIC governor of Nueva Ecija, chairman of Regional development
Council III, secretary-general of League of Governors and
City Mayors of the Philippines and chairman of IBC-13.
He
has travelled extensively in U.S. Europe, and other cities
of the world for several times.
